Please join with me in welcoming Carolyn Everson to Microsoft Advertising as Corporate Vice President, Global Ad Sales and Strategy. clip_image002

Carolyn joins us from MTV Networks where she was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of U.S. Ad Sales.  In this role, Carolyn was responsible for strategic planning, operations and finance for MTVN’s multi-billion dollar U.S. Ad Sales department.  She also owned MTVN's Direct Response business and the cross platform, cross brand strategic sales and marketing group.

Carolyn also helped shape MTVN U.S. Ad Sales strategy, organizational design, plans and implements talent recruitment initiatives, and selects technologies and solutions that allow MTVN to better serve its marketing partners.

Before joining MTVN, Carolyn worked at Primedia Inc., where she was vice president and general manager of several digital businesses, including Seventeen.com, ModernBride.com and New York Magazine's Direct Response business.  She has also held new business development positions at brands including Zagat Survey and Walt Disney Imagineering. 

Carolyn holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where she was a Baker Scholar and a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Communication from Villanova University. She has twin daughters, Taylor and Kennedy and a husband, Doug.

We have taken some time to find an Ad Sales Leader that not only has the right experience, but was someone who was the right fit for Microsoft. It takes time to find someone like this and we believe that Carolyn is the perfect fit for this role.

We’re excited about her experience - she is one of the most talented and driven executives in this industry.

We have all been impressed by her deep understanding of the ad sales market and her passion for both the industry and her people. We’re looking forward to her bringing a fresh point of view to the business and helping shape our Ad Sales business for the future.
