Whilst industry leaders were bestowing their nuggets of insight and thought leadership on the art of storytelling inside the Imagine London 2011 auditorium, outside were a veritable collection of stalls that constituted Microsoft’s ‘Creative Fairground’. The presence of a coconut shy may have been a nice addition (knock over three nuts to win a cuddly toy) but disappointment was short lived as the army of media and creative types were provided a smorgasbord of demonstrations of the innovative and outstanding, creativity and technology, currently being told by Microsoft Advertising.
Once officially ‘opened’ there was a genuine crowd surge to our ‘fair’ or rather ‘fayre’ as the buffet was also unveiled! As the food piled on the plates, interest soon averted to the plethora of TV screens that were there to tell our creative stories. Good stories they are too! From the Global Creative Solutions Team and their content rich campaigns such as Asus and Intel’s ‘In Search Of Incredible’ and Hyundai’s ‘New Thinker Index’ and from the UK Team, demonstrations of the successful Ford CMAX, Polycell and Sainsbury partnerships along with the highly social Harry Potter 7 campaign brought to life by Microsoft’s Deep Zoom technology. Actually in all there were 5 stalls to visit:
1) Science Fiction: Using the latest technology so brands can boldly go where no brand has gone before
2) True Stories: Bringing brands to life and getting everyone talking about it
3) Short Stories: Capturing your audience’s hearts - quickly
4) Best Sellers: We know who did it! Discovering how insight inspires creative thinking
5) Fantasy : Welcome to Never Never Land and get insight into some of the unique thinking behind stories
Like all good fairs there’s always a ride that you and all your friends want to jump on together, and the Customer Experience Centre (CEC) was open to welcome our visitors into the living room of the future. Here they could play with some of the latest Microsoft technologies, whether testing the new Mango release on the Windows Phone, XBOX Kinect, Surface or some of the touchscreen technology around the room.
You may have noticed on your way through to the CEC centre a rather strange looking inflatable bubble.
Far from walking in and having your palm read visitors were welcome to brainstorm ideas with our very best creative minds from the Global Creative Solutions team…all free of course, not a ticket in sight.
