Exclusive to Microsoft Advertising, the UK are excited to announce two brand-new ad formats; Magnetic Canvas and Swell, are now available for MSN Homepage and channel takeovers.

These new formats both strike a fantastic balance between maximising advertiser impact and gaining users attention without disrupting their browsing experience.

The Swell

The perfect format for advertisers to surprise and delight their audience.

The Swell

The 300x600 canvas comes alive as a user hovers over the add, spilling out over the page and into the right hand gutter and inviting further interactions. The Swell gives advertisers the opportunity to take advantage of any accidental hovers across the unit and bring their products to life with exciting and enticing animations and expansions without disrupting the experience or covering any content. Whilst being incredibly flexible in it’s suitability for different sectors, we see The Swell being extremely well suited to FMCG where advertisers want to take ordinary products and turn them into extraordinary experiences.

The Magnetic Canvas

Engage users with this exciting 3D environment!

MagneticCanvas

Another format designed to take advantage of any accidental hovers without disrupting the user experience, this time with eye catching 3D animation. The ad grows as users hover and the animation follows the mouse around the ad with a fantastic 3D effect. This is caused by parallaxing” – an effect where there are actually three layers of creative that move at different speeds upon hover. The ad also offers large expansion opportunities based on 3 second hover on hotspots within the creative allowing users to explore the products in detail.  This format is also flexible in its suitability for different advertisers as can be seen by the two demo links below however in particular, we recommend it for those campaigns with lots of products or features to display and explore.
