Advertising reinvented: Ads in Apps offer a unique creative canvas for advertisers to drive meaningful consumer engagement, where messages are an integrated and seamless feature of the user experience, rather than an interruption.
As Stephen Kim, GM of Yarn (formerly Global Creative Solutions) for Microsoft Advertising wrote in his blog ‘Microsoft Advertising Unveils New Windows 8 Ads in Apps Concepts’ we’ve collaborated with the IAB creative board, including Big Spaceship, Razorfish, Team Detroit, Universal McCann and Y&R Group on blue sky thinking for in-app ad concepts, as we’re considering Windows 8 a brand new advertising canvas that offers endless opportunities.
The connected user interface and unique, fluid design of Windows 8 will encourage people to explore and discover ads without disrupting their experience. We set out not to just create new ad formats, but rethink the entire experience. At the launch of Windows 8, we signed up more than 25 global leading brands for 8 Ads in Apps including Coca-Cola, Nissan and Sky. Read more about our ads in apps partners here.
Most interestingly, during the pilot 33% agree that advertising on Windows 8 improves their opinion of a brand and there was 92% ad recall for Windows 8 ads in apps (Metrixlab US).
